SGS 101 The Situation – Smart Growth Basics

This course immerses students in the current practice of Smart Growth. Students will receive hands-on training in urban field work and analysis. At the end of the course, they will have a basic background in all aspects of Smart Growth, including design, coding, legal, public process, and implementation.
SGS 201 The Remedy – Smart Growth Codes
Prerequisite: SGS 101
Course dates to be announced
Building on the basics of SGS 101, students in this course will be trained to calibrate the SmartCode and prepare a Regulating Plan. This work will be informed by in-the-field analysis and studio team work.
SGS 301 The Law – Smart Growth Administration & Implementation
Prerequisite: SGS 201
Course dates to be announced
After completing SGS 101 and SGS 201, students will acquire in-depth knowledge and practice in the administration and post-adoption implementation of the SmartCode. |
